To be a community of authentic followers of Jesus Christ, who faithfully honor God through worship, discipleship, relationship and service.

We are a casual, coastal and Christ-centered group of Jesus’ disciples who love spending time together. Engaging worship, a relevant Scripture-based teaching and time to share, laugh, pray and serve together in a laid back environment. Our weekly worship gatherings usually last around 75 to 90 minutes, but you will often find many people coming early or staying afterwards to hang out and talk or share a cup of coffee. We also gather in smaller groups throughout the week and participate in many community activities together.

CCVC was birthed through the vision of Jon and Cathy Chester to plant a church that is all-inclusive and welcoming. Jon and Cathy relocated to Wilmington from Columbus, Ohio to plant CCVC in June, 2012. Four months after their arrival, Jon passed away very unexpectedly. Committed to the call that God had given them, Cathy stepped up to the role of Pastor and continued to follow the vision God had put before her and Jon.

In 2019, Pastor Cathy transitioned to her new role of Founding Pastor. Clint and Amy Parsons stepped into the roles of Lead Pastors in July and are excited to walk alongside this strong-hearted, loving family as it continues to live out the story God has written for it.

Clint & Amy Parsons

Lead Pastors

Clint grew up in Southwestern Virginia. Amy is an artist from the central coast of California, where they were married and have been living since 2010. They love Jesus, the Church, and the Kingdom of God. Seeing the local church be all it can be is one of their highest values. [obligatory coffee reference here] They both love Boogie-boarding, donuts, and metered parking, so they are excited to be in Carolina Beach!
